Summary/Abstract: Abstract. This study demonstrates that Turkey’s reactions to the perilously escalating crisis in Ukraine resulted from Ankara’s cost-benefit calculations based on domestic and international power balances under the influence of social, economic, and historical factors. By applying a coherent framework that identifies multiple and complex contributing factors, the author provides a comprehensive analysis of the elements underlying Turkey’s response to the Ukrainian crisis.
