Summary/Abstract: The paper introduces the linguistic phenomenon of "consonant play". An overview of research into the area in world linguistics is given. Also, similar phenomena in Lithuanian are discussed. The paper focuses on the stylistic use of the foreign consonants /f/ and /h/ in the Lithuanian onomatopoeic words.
