Summary/Abstract: Anchored at the same time in the mythical tradition and the sphere of a daring remotivation, Jean Ristat revisits in Artémis chasse à courre le sanglier, le cerf et le loup the famous scene of the bath – authentic literary topos – which opposes the goddess and the presumptuous young hunter Actaeon. This study presents, on one hand, the outpouring and the intensification of the scopic erotic impulse which invades the hero. On the other hand, it emphasizes the quadruple erotic excess that generates the impious contemplation of the goddess and sets the light on the symbolic implications of this multiform hybris.
