Summary/Abstract: Christa Wolf, a controversial personality, accused in the former GDR as a disident writer and after 1989 as a representative of the fallen Communist regime. In the early 90s her attitude was just a pretext for a debate on the role played by intellectuals in GDR and GFR. A short monograph on the German writer’s latest work highlighting her prevalent topics and literary devices and on her disillusionment with the Communist utopia.
