Summary/Abstract: The linen plays a specific role in the life of the Soviet society. It is а mechanism of legitimization of the inequalities in a society which has proclaimed principle equality. The linen and, more precisely the way it is used, simultaneously contravenes with and confirms this principle. This article analyzes concrete examples of manufacturing identity.
