Summary/Abstract: This article touches upon the salvific significance of the Holy Spirit’s action in the thought of two prominent contemporary theologians: Jean Galot and Bruno Forte. In addition to the signalled presentation of thoughts of both theologians the article provides the synthesis of both respective theological positions. As a foundation for the synthesis the documents on teaching the Magisterium of the Church which had the biggest influence on the shape of pneumatology of both theologians were selected. What is more, the article pays attention to the fact that the basis of Jean Galot and Bruno Forte’s pneumatology is strongly rooted in the biblical teaching concerning the activity of the Holy Spirit and in the renewal that the Second Vatican Council brought in this matter. These two common general features of pneumatology of the two theologians imply a whole range of common specific features, such as the centrality of the Passover, the orthodox doctrine of the Trinity, the rooting of pneumatology in history, which carries the doctrine of the Holy Spirit from the theoretical dimension to the practical dimension, the soteriological of pneumatology. Furthermore, the synthesis of thought made by both theologians revealed the interrelationship between the teaching of the Magisterium and the view of particular theologians, which may contribute to a better understanding of the relationship between the Magisterium and research in the field of theology.
