Summary/Abstract: It is to Artaud as a “theatre poet”, as he was named by Grotowski, that have led all the great theatrical experiences of the sixties, either as a meeting point of very different ways of creation, or as a starting point for new accesses to creation. This article deals with a question put on the basis of four exemplary adventures – that of Peter Brook, of Grotowski, of the Living Theatre and of Barba: how can we talk about an “Artaud’s era” at that period of the XXth century? Not everybody started from Artaud’s writings, not everybody took Artaud’s metaphors as a horizon of their creations, but even those who did not know Artaud at the beginning, did find themselves, as this article is going to show it, on the same territories as he did.
