Summary/Abstract: New formats of global business and global exchange have intensified the need for a wider and more complex involvement of different companies in the franchise-based business system, providing for their complete economic integration into global trends. Under such conditions, focusing on global markets becomes inevitable, since internationalisation and globalisation of the overall business activity is an omnipresent phenomenon and one of the most impressive trends in business. Any company appearing in the transition countries’ markets ad a system seeking to expand on the basis of franchising is an opportunity for small and medium enterprises. If they wish to survive in the global economic environment, BiH companies must define the area where they may be able to attain superb business results and base their entire operation on such areas.
