Educational Aspirations of Young People and the School, Family and Local Environment. A Report on the Results of Research

Summary/Abstract: The article deals with educational aspirations of young people. This undoubtedly is an important type of aspirations for it provides information not only about the dominating models and norms, e.g. those relating to the labour market and life styles, but also about the condition of various social-vocational groups, changes in the stratification hierarchy and openness of the social structure and the educational system itself. The article is based on the results of empirical research carried out in two voivodeships which differ considerably in terms of educational, economic and social characteristics – Dolnośląskie and Warmińsko-Mazurskie. The research was conducted with the help of a questionnaire in the selected schools of the two voivodeships. Niniejszy artykuł poświęcony jest aspiracjom edukacyjnym młodzieży. Bez wątpienia to ważny rodzaj aspiracji, bo informuje nie tylko o dominujących wzorach i normach, dotyczących m.in. rynku pracy i stylu życia, lecz także o kondycji różnych grup społeczno-zawodowych, zmianach w hierarchii stratyfikacyjnej oraz otwartości struktury społecznej i samego systemu oświatowego. Artykuł opiera się na wynikach badań empirycznych zrealizowanych w dwóch znacznie różniących się pod względem charakterystyk oświatowych, gospodarczych i społecznych województwach – dolnośląskim i warmińsko-mazurskim. Badanie realizowane było za pomocą ankiety audytoryjnej w wybranych szkołach obu województw.
