Summary/Abstract: Considering changes in the field of health care according to the changing needs of society it is purposeful to identity people’s attitudes towards prevention of odontological diseases. Opinion surveys can help planning works for the development of preventive programs, demand for specialist training and service supply at the regional level. The paper analyses customers’ opinions about odontology offices in Šiauliai region in terms of professional and personal mouth hygiene, their attitudes towards prevention of odontology diseases is revealed. Research has identified that odontology clinics customers’ attitudes towards mouth hygiene and prevention of mouth diseases is positive. The majority of respondents take enough care of their mouth health, keep personal mouth hygiene, i.e. day-to-day care of mouth cavity, use other mouth hygiene means. According to respondents, among the most necessary professional mouth hygiene services are stone removal and prevention of caries (dental decay). Over 70 % of odontology clinics customers seek preventive care of children’s teeth to be provided in schools. Summary using research data it is possible to state that odontology clinics in Šiauliai region customers understand the effect of professional and personal mouth hygiene on preservation and strengthening overall mouth health. At the same time they use services of mouth hygiene professionals, take conscious care of their mouth health, understand the necessity of preventive care of children’s and teenager’s teeth. Young people at the age of 18–25 take care of their mouth health most.
