Summary/Abstract: The author considers several basic problems of the Review which has no equal in world practice as far as its character and importance go. The introductory pages explain the incentives of its organizers: to make known all the cultural articles used in daily life in the past, and still found among people; to enhance their prestige and create positive appreciation of them; to use their educational effect on the young generation in the trend of enhancing their aesthetic sense and patriotism. The first part of article follows the stages, events and results of the Review, and also its scientific importance: unexampled scientific collecting activity was carried out, a vast number of ethnographic relics were fund preserved among people and were elementarily studied, an intensified work of popularization was done in favour of folk culture and ethnographic science. The second part of the article considers the practical results of the Review: the effect of the ethnographic treasures on the aesthetic and patriotic education of the young generation was made use of to the full; great organizing experience was obtained in holding exhibitions; new ethnographic collections will be created even in the smallest villages; the masters of art crafts and museum workers acquired new exquisite ethnographic models. In conclusion, the author poses questions concerning future reviews, what will be collected in them and completing all that was begun at the first Review, etc.
