Biography and Personality Identity. The University Humanitarian Intelligentsia in the Beginning of the 90s

Summary/Abstract: The paper presents the empirical test's results of the potentialities in Pierre Bourdieu's sociological approach. It is tested by analysing identity transformation complementary to macro social crisis in Bulgaria in the early 90-s. A fragment of a survey "The University Humanitarian intelligentsia at cross-roads" (carried out at the end of 1993 and the beginning of 1994) is used. The empirical data verify the general hypothesis that identity crises are evercome trough the interpretative resources of personal biographies. But that process is accomplished in a variety of mechanisms and the application of anyone of them is predetermined by, both, the specificity of tile typical biographical trajectories and the hierarchical status which has been individually attained.
