Sytuacja kobiet na rynku pracy a zmiany demograficzne – na przykładzie województwa dolnośląskiego
Position of women on the labour market in the context of demographic changes – on the example of Lower Silesia Voivodeship

Summary/Abstract: This paper aims to identify qualities of vocational activity of women in Lower Silesia, as one of the most difficult and specific regional labour markets in Poland. Based on general characteristics of labour situation in the region, as well as its demographic determinants, changes in size and structure of female employment are analysed, together with level and structure of unemployment in this category, as observed in the period of 1999-2011. The results of the analysis show various manifestations of gender inequity and discrimination, leading to the assumption that difficult employment situation of women may have affected their procreation behaviours, resulting in significant changes in demography of the region.
