Summary/Abstract: When you read from the 'Bible' (i.e. G. Calinescu's The History of Romanian Literature), you realise that the great authors – at least those dear to my heart and soul – used to have outrageously playful practices. Nonetheless, I have said this before: there was something in these witty episodes that obviously belonged to the jocular Calinescu, who, like any other great intellectual, was keen on humour.
