Summary/Abstract: We may say that Reinhardt, through his Kammerspiele, brought the actor closer to the audience, highlighting his mimicking expressiveness. The cabaret mimicker is, for Reinhardt, that actor who succeeds in improvising and creating scenic poetry through pantomime. An anti-naturalist, Reinhardt did not believe in the actor's possibility to imitate, but encouraged the actor to seek corporal expressiveness as the main channel of communication with the audience.
