Summary/Abstract: The following four questions have been given answers by a group of historians and men of culture from the both sides of the river Prut. What do you think about the Bucharest and Chisinau’s decision to celebrate Stefan the Great Year on 500 years from the death of the Moldavian monarch? What do you think about the controversy related to the sanctification of the Moldavian monarch? Could Stefan the Great be considered a European avant la lettre taken into consideration his victories on the Turks? There are voices that consider exaggerate the cult of founding heroes and events and attribute these cults to small-undeveloped peoples who lost their competition with modernity. Do you find these reproaches to be fair?
