Socio-economic conditions of consolidation and deconsolidation of local government entities in Poland

Summary/Abstract: The dynamic economic and social changes influence the decisions of local governments entities to consolidate or deconsolidate. In the near future the above processes will be undoubtedly caused by the demographic and financial problems. Therefore, the aim of this article is to analyze the consolidation and deconsolidation processes that take place in the Polish local government, with particular emphasis on social, demographic and economic factors.
