Summary/Abstract: In the second half of the 19th century of Russian painting art, pioneer realist painter Vasiliy Grigorevich Perov; provided to form new art principles with his aesthetic and social values included to painting art and canalized his contemporaries in accordance with the principle that art serve public. Artist who took subjects of his paintings from real life, reflected the difficulties of Russian public to his art in a realistic way. Perov, the first painter to reveal the lives of poor peasants in Russia, dealed the fate of women and children, the difficulties of urban life. In this article, it is aimed to explain the place and importance of image of little man in Perov’s art by observing the paintings with this image.
