Restructuring of independent public health care units. Opportunities and threats.

Summary/Abstract: Independent public health care units (SPZOZs) have again faced the challenge to improve their financial condition by means of financial restructuring. The subject of this restructuring are public liabilities towards contracting parties and towards units’ employees. Restructuring, in order to be efficient, must refer to other SPZOZ’s activities which aim at improving profitability of their operation. The paper presents opportunities and threats which have appeared during processes of restructuring and healing the financial situation in health care units after a year of realization of the resolutions of the Act on public aid and restructuring of the public health care units.
