Summary/Abstract: This study, being a part of a larger work on Dostoyevsky’s The Brothers Karamazov, focuses on the Legend of the Grand Inquisitor. Contrary to common approaches, it interprets the Legend not as a philosophical but as the element of an autonomous aesthetics structure and tries to explain its function within the literary framework of the novel.
