Development, Social Changes and Mutations

Summary/Abstract: The first aim of the article is to offer an explanation of the collapse of the economic changes in Bulgaria. The second one is to show, that a widely spread opinion lacks serious grounds. I have in mind the opinion that the confidence in the theories of modernisation has fallen down due to their unability to explain the ongoing transformations in Central and Eastern Europe.
