Summary/Abstract: This article tries to answer to the question in the title based on the historical past of Jerusalem and on today’s realities in the city. After a brief statement on the various political powers that governed Jerusalem from the beginning of time to the present days, the article suggests a few pragmatic solutions regarding the free access of the three religions of Abraham to their holy places. The second part narrows the question in the title to a few Christian confessions. The diversity of the Christian presence in the past and today is presented, being followed by a few points which might infl uence the transformation of Jerusalem into a pacifying factor between Christians.
