Summary/Abstract: The article presents the results of research on social perception of five types of relationships (monogamous, polyamorous, sexually open, swinging and afflicted with infidelity). The results indicates that non-consensual infidelity is a subject to the strongest stigmatization, while there is a halo effect around monogamous choice, both on evaluation of traits related and not related with the quality of the relationship. Polyamory is assessed more positively than other types of consensual non-monogamy. A man in all types of non-monogamous relationships is perceived as more satisfied than a woman, while the reverse effect is observed in a monogamous case.
