Summary/Abstract: Russia considered peaceful resolution of Iraqi problem vitally important and spoke for lifting the UN’s sanctions on Iraq. The article focuses on a situation of the Iraqi Kurds population. Many thousands of them had lived on a territory of the former Soviet Union before its collapse and that is one of the reasons for Russia’s interest in political settlement of a problem.
