Summary/Abstract: The feature is based on information of census of the population, carried out in March 2001. The influence of the women’s fertility over the main demographic and social characteristics: age education, juridical marital status, actual marital status, ethnical groups, religion, migration and residence (urban/rural) is analyzed. The changes of fertility rate are comparatively analyzed in dynamics based on data from the censuses in 1975 and 1985. The indicator “General Fertility Rate” (the average number of live-born children per woman) and distribution of the number of women according to the number of live-born children as well as by certain social-demographic characteristics are used. A special attention is paid on the group 45-49 years, in which in practice the reproductive process is finished, which gives the possibility the influence of individual characteristics to be outlined. General conclusions about the tendencies of development of the fertility of women from the main social-demographic categories are made.
