Current Special Features and Changes in the Demographic, Situation of Sofia Municipality

Summary/Abstract: The article gives a detailed description of the demographic situation in Sofia Municipality at present. The average annual rate of its growth, the gender-age structure, the natural migration, fertility and matrimony of the popula¬tion in the capital city are the subject of the study. An extra stress has been laid upon the special features of the parameters characterizing the demographic situation in the administrative-territorial unit in question, as compared with the other macro-regions in the country, and upon the factors generating the differences between them. The article offers future perspectives in the development of this particular unit.
