Summary/Abstract: The process of historical development of the world is con¬nected with considerable resettlement, mixing, and amalgamation of population with various ethnic origins. Today, at the root of the ethnogenetic processes of formation of every nation are the basic ethnoses together with the substrata of small tribe groups whose his¬toric fate is connected both with the basic population forming ethnoses and with the lands populated by them. Thus, for example, in the ethnogenetic processes of the formation of today's Bulgarian population to the south of the river Danube, historic part has been played by three ethnoses — Thracian, Slavic, and Bulgarian together with other substrata tribe groups historically connected with today's Bulgarian lands — Misia, Thrace and Macedonia. The main aim of the study is expressed by its title — 'Synoptic Chronological Review of the Main Ethnoses and Tribes which have Populated Bulgarian Lands Permanently or Temporarily'.
