Summary/Abstract: The paper presents the possibility of coincidence existing in their lives and in some of the works written by Mihai Eminescu and Guy de Maupassant. This coincidence may be thus found in their poetry and also in their interest for legends and fairy tales. But, folklore places Maupassant next to another Romanian, Tudor Pamfile, too.
