Mobility of Bulgarian Scientists under Present-Day Conditions of Scientific Activity: Forms, Motivation, Conditions

Summary/Abstract: The aim of the article is to study the mobility of Bulgarian scientists under present-day conditions. On the basis of their own empirical findings, the authors analyze the modern understanding of mobility in science, the predominant forms of mobility and their basic characteristics. By applying the technique of path analysis, the authors identify significant differences in the motivation and conditions for undertaking certain forms of mobility. The results can be applied in elaborating policies for stimulating career growth of Bulgarian scholars.
