Summary/Abstract: In the political and ideological discourses there has been a lot of talk about the nostalgia. Politicians, ideologists, journalists and experts are intentionally creating and spreading in the public sphere speculative perceptions and partial interpretations about it. From scientific point of view the nostalgia is a rarely examined phenomenon. It turns out to be a very specific intimate and spiritual place for „putting in“, but in the same time an instrument for overcoming a various (semantic, controversial and interpretative) frontiers in the human’s life. The nostalgia transforms or regroups a certain (temporal and spatial) figures from the past, carefully comparing them with those of the present. It relates selectively to the life’s situations giving them its own visualization in the men’s mentality. Although the nostalgia is charged with values and norms it doesn’t always insists a certain type of normative reaction and behavior. Putting the stress on the subjective-valuable and intimate-considerable terms, the nostalgia is emancipating itself from the social-objective issues which the Power attempt to impose. This turns it into a very delicate and sophisticated weapon against the censorship and auto-censorship. The fight against nostalgia could be successful if there is a change not in the image of the past but in the present reality which is the only reason and conditionality for the nostalgia presence and authority.
