Summary/Abstract: Labor world and labor unions are major affected by two waves- first on the beginning of 20th century, the 2nd in the end of the 20th and still evolving nowadays- during 2nd decade of 21st century. Industrial revolution is considered as the 1st wave- people have, massively, left rural working environment for industry including city life, bettering standard of living, working harder having the need to negotiate with employers. That ground serves best emerging union- labor union to stand against employers demanding rights and improvementswages and work place level as well. Unions and management establish tools, methods, dynamics (in processes) where managements always try to gain control. Globalization, broadly thinking, is the 2nd wave in labor unions history. Networking, open world for knowledge, work, merchants and more, makes the world flat. Reality offers exciting option and in the same time rough competition. That is the time where labor unions are a target for managements to weaken since they are grabbed fixated and competition decreasing. In that array new tools are used by managements- communication, managing new tools, outsourcing, work purchase (instead of hiring), politic influence, new legislation, law measures and more. In order to compete, to survive and to gain power labor unions must understand those new tools and use themthat is the only way. One that cannot change will not survive. The changing world generates chain reaction where globalization, technology, open communication– cheap and faster than ever before, spread of knowledge, labor changes- outsourcing (among companies and between countries as well) and work migration- all are mixed creating profound change of reality in the labor marketscollective and personal.
