Summary/Abstract: Mergers and Acquisitions (M&As) are one of the favored methods for achieving strategic targets. At least in theory, acquisitions can create synergies and economies of scale, expand operations and cut costs. However, not all the acquisitions delivered the results the buyers were hoping for. Researches in that area show that most M&As are considered to be unsuccessful. This paper describes a case of a successful acquisition. The article covers the preliminary findings of a study that explores significant processes, dilemmas and decisions during pre and post-acquisition, as are exemplified by an in-depth study of an Israeli technology driven start-up that was acquired by an international company. The acquired company and its technologies were fully integrated into the buyer core business and within a short period of time started to generate a positive cash flow.
