Summary/Abstract: Livonian War (1558-583) was prepared by Russian-Livonian treaties of 1554. They were similar to treaties of 1535, 1550 all along the line, except for the urgent request of so called "Yuriew tribute". An origin of this tribute had been lost in ancient days, and probably descended from the tribute of Lettish inhabitants of Talova in the 13th century. But the tribute was never paid. In 1554 the claim of tribute was brought up to date. Livonian envoys agreed with it, but decided, that they would dispute a claim in court of Emperor of Holy Roman Empire. But it was a mistake, and the war was begun in 1558. In attachment of the article is published the texts of treaties from the Russian state Archive of ancient acts.
