Summary/Abstract: The study deals with musical notation and compares it with phonetic transcription of spoken language. The term of allovariant is borrowed from linguistics where it means the group of all variants belonging to one systemic unit (to one degree). Each stage/note (represented by a  score) has several pitch variants – basic variant (and the derived variants (C sharp, C flat, C double sharp, and C double flat). Shifts in the score (sharp and flat key signatures) signify and identify to which degree the tone belogs and thus it is possible to identify even the relations between individual variants. Some tones sound equally even though they have different names and other signs for them are used in the score – here we speak about enharmonic equivalents. the system of musical notes we find interferences of three musical alovariants as each tone can be in tempered tuning named (and recorded) in three ways. This fact can be seen as phenomenon that linguistics calls Czech language homonymy or homophony - cases when words (language units) sound equally but are written differently: for example bít v. být in the language, or double sharp equals D od flat equals B in music. Not only enharmonic equivalency but also the interference of allovariants can be seen as another case of analogy between music and natural languages.
