Summary/Abstract: The author researched the ethnic configuration of a village from the Székely Land, Nagyteremi/Tirimia. He analyses in one single settlement the different religions and different nationalites, above and below assigned identities and historical situations. The Hungarian-Romanian cohabitation in Nagyteremi/Tirimia rests on a historical basis. The two communities keep this fact in mind, and this is how they forge their narratives. The position of the diasporas in the village is not closed: interethnic relations are changing, and with them the identity and the system of group cohesion are changing too.
