Summary/Abstract: We may affirm that between reward and performance there is a direct connection. The present scientific paper focuses on the idea of demonstrating the hypothesis according to which rewards play a very important role in obtaining performance in the didactic activity from the preuniversity education. Due to its characteristics of being a heavily qualitative concept and also a concept which can engender various interpretations, the performance management needs a conceptual definition in this sense. It also needs a delimitation of its place and role in the human resources management. The analysis of the relationship between attribution/evaluation and reward is an attempt to demonstrate to what extent the preuniversity teaching activity is stimulated in order to reach performance. Moreover, the comparative analysis of the rewards received by secondary school teachers from different countries in the world, aims at establishing the place that Romania occupies in this hierarchy. The enquiry achieved by means of questionnaires is oriented towards the discovery of an existent/inexistent relationahip between evaluation, reward and performance.
