Summary/Abstract: The selection of personnel – a center-piece of the Public Services Quality. It’s a known fact that Police is the public institution that protects the rights and liberties of persons, along with the private and public property, crime prevention and solving and protecting the public order. The consolidation of the police brand in the mind of the targeted groups and presenting the institution as a responsible one in order to emphasize the public trust is a continues preoccupation of the institution also reflected in the actions taken by the police training schools. It is noticeable in Romania that violent behavior of groups has increased along with the un-safety of the street. Also some type of crimes have their national debut done and all those happen although the Romanian society has done great efforts to overdue them. The police officers number has increased and they are better equipped, the number of institutions who have to deal with the public safety has also increased and, in spite of all this, the crime rate can not be overcome in a pleasing way. Some say that out of the many causes that could be blamed, an important one is the bad selection of the police officers. A big question mark is if not, for the sake of a fraud-less exam, we sacrifice a certain quality of it ?! Police, everywhere, may have lost very good candidates because of some badly thought exams, and maybe at individual level those exams have ruined the destinies of some gifted youngsters who would have done a good job protecting others.
