Summary/Abstract: The present study has the purpose to research the amplitude of negative implication that economic and financial crisis has had on the evolution of Foreign Direct Investments (FDI) in Romania knowing that direct investments coming from abroad has remained one of the few economic growth drivers. The study intends to answer questions like: “Did the crisis affected the evolution of FDI in Romania?”, “Is Romania still an attractive location for foreign investments?”, “Are FDI inflows a real progress generator and economic stimulator or a healthy economic environment and political stability are the stimulators of FDI increasing?”. On the other hand the study tries to provide additional information, which could help specialists to declare that are really true statements like these: “Romania is currently the single largest investment destination in Southeastern and Central Europe” (http://www.romania-invest.com/en/fdi.html), “22% of FDI experts appreciated Romania as the most attractive investing destination in south-east Europe” (http://www.romania-invest.com/en/fdi.html), “Increasing interest on behalf of Foreign Investors – leader destination for FDI in the region” (source: Ernst&Young, SEE Attractiveness Survey – SouthEast Europe: An Emergent FDI Destination in Europe, April 2008)
