Summary/Abstract: The literature reveals that successful six sigma implementation is also related with proper six sigma project prioritisation and selection. The purpose of this paper is to identify what criteria are considered for identification and selection of six sigma projects in Slovenia and to compare results to similar researches in UK. Using a survey as a method of research in Slovenia, respondents- quality managers were asked which tools are used for identification of potential six sigma projects, and which criteria are considered to select projects for final execution. The results of the survey indicate that Slovenian manufacturing organisations tend to select projects based on criteria such as customer satisfaction, connection with the business strategy financial benefits, and growth of organisation and similar. Several tools and techniques such as quality cost analysis, brainstorming and interviews are used to identify and prioritise projects. These results from Slovenia differ from similar researches in UK [1], which is related with the period of use of six sigma in Slovenia and UK.
