Summary/Abstract: Crossing Gender Boundaries. The trial of Andrew Ungvári (1712). This essay presents the trial of a cross-dresser female sodomite from 1712, as it is revealed in the legal documents of Court Protocols from the town Cluj. The article would like to disclose some rhetoric’s on female deviance analyzing the trial record produced by the male authorities on the case of the so called Andrew Ungvári, document which in our reading contains moral, legal and sexual elements of a male discourse on female sodomy.
