Summary/Abstract: The author considers the issue of women‟s presence/absence in Polish films of last 30 years. Her analysis leads to the reconstruction of three models of female heroes: a legend (strong and “over-present”), a cheesecake (downplayed and treated as an object) and a model mediating between these two types (being both representation of femininity and its projection at the same time). These three models are described by the author who concentrates on three examples: Agnieszka – a heroine of “Człowiek z marmuru” [“Man of Marble”] by Andrzej Wajda, Angela – of “Psy” [English title: “Pigs”] by Pasikowski (a type of women that appeared often in gangster movies in the nineties) and Anielica – heroine of “Jasminum” by Jan Jakub Kolski.
