About the “gurbet” and “pechalbarstvo” (labour mobility) of the gorani people from Kosovo and Albania

Summary/Abstract: The text presents an interesting community – the gorani people, which are inhabiting the Gora region, located today in Republic of Kosovo (19 villages), Republic of Albania (9 villages) and Republic of Macedonia (2 villages). The focus of this study are “gurbeti”, labor mobility and migration of the community in diachrony – from sheep breeding in the Middle Ages and last years of the Ottoman Empire to the crafts and the pastry in the middle of the 19th century and also nowadays.
