The net dramaturgy: dynamics between direct and mediated communication

Summary/Abstract: The topic presents a case study of models of communication and interaction in an Internet forum – the forum of the fan club “Ivan Efremov” (Sofia) where the members know each other and communicate both online and off-line. The personal connections created in two spaces (the club and the forum) are strongly interrelated: on one hand, the profiles or characters worked out in the forum mediate the face-to-face interaction; on the other hand, the relationships developed in direct communication are often transferred into the virtual medium provoking abundant net dramaturgy.
