Summary/Abstract: Inadequate and improperly built infrastructure may impede investment. This is a serious issue for Bangladesh. An exploratory study tried to identify the nature and severity of infrastructural and other problems affecting investment decisions of entrepreneurs in Bangladesh. The sample investors identified 48 different factors affecting investment. These involve Infrastructure, Governance, Tax/fiscal policy, Finance/monetary policy, Labor and Employment Policy, and Enterprise. This paper focuses on infrastructural problems. The sample investors offered many suggestions to overcome those problems. They proposed the creation of an investor council as an institutional apparatus to facilitate public private partnership, and the formulation of more informed policies.
