The idea of partner cities. The example of Łódź

Summary/Abstract: The article raises issues related to one of the symptoms of the international cooperation of local government units which are cities. Its main purpose is to highlight the true extent of this cooperation and its principles and ideas. In addition to the theoretical content, it also focuses on the results of surveys which try to evaluate cooperation, its course, forms and planes in Łódź and its partner cities.
