Summary/Abstract: Nikiphor Grigora (1295.1359) is one of the most famous Byzantine historians of the 14th century. He is author of the .Roma History. in 37 volumes which spans over a considerable period of time 1204.1359 ã. and which is considered as a valuabe source of information especially for the time after 1320 when its original part actually starts. The author focuses on a specific moment of the historical narrative . a night of the Byzantine army spent in the Bulgarian lands. By the history narrative of Grigora she analyses not only the notions specific to the medieval Christian consciousness but the attitude to the Bulgarians as reflected through the prism of the Byzantine universalism as well.
