Summary/Abstract: The paper deals with the ‘doing’ of the world by the Western mind and the ‘non-doing’ by the Eastern mind. The materialistic view of the world makes us constantly divide the reality, systematize it, compartmentalize it. In this way we lose sight of the whole, the holistic view of the reality and our connection to the Universe. When we evaluate the world, we ‘make it’ bipolar. Our mind is not quiet, it suffers, gets excited. The world in Tao is not finished, is not completed. It continues creating itself. The Eastern mind knows the qualities of its own nature. It exists also in the spiritual world and can make itself to be in peace, not to ‘do’ the material reality but rather to follow the Tao.
