Summary/Abstract: In our opinion, a higher education institution should be evaluated by different entities, such as its students, employees and management. A vital part of such an assessment is the evaluation of the research projects carried out in an institution. This paper presents the results of studies aimed at identifying the factors (evaluation criteria) which are particularly important for both project executors and university management. The paper presents the claim that research projects may be evaluated according to different criteria, depending on what evaluating entities regard as important.
