Summary/Abstract: The article consists of five parts. Part I includes general characteristics of winged words excerpted from didactic books of The Old Testament; part II compares winged words in Jakub Wujek’s and in ecumenical translation. Part III informs about the crucial Catholic translations of the Bible; part IV presents in a tabular way lexical equivalence in ecumenical and Catholic translations of the Bible. Part V offers conclusions of the comparatistic analysis (fragments) of selected winged words.
