Summary/Abstract: The self (soi) is a core factor in the explicative patterns of human behaviors. This is a theoretical study, arguing that the autobiographical data play a major role in constructing the self. That refers both to the historical perspective (the process of the construction of the self depends on the individual history), and to the experiential one (the evoking setting can provoke remembering of some data, useful for defining the present self). The self can influence the remembrance of the past data which are related to the present self-perception and, sometimes, the self could cause changes in the past data, to be in concordance with the actual beliefs or opinions. In their turn, the past data, if specifically activated or interpreted, can be helpful to the self, by contributing to its momentarily re-definition or, in exceptional cases, stimulating the gradual changes of its components in order to make the self accordant with an actual dominant attitude or need.
